Although Free The Bid celebrates the accomplishments of women every single month, since women are incredibly f*cking talented and need to be celebrated EVERY day…we are all in for Women’s Day on March 8th!
We hope this newsletter is a consistent reminder of the fact that women filmmakers are constantly putting out work that changes the game, pushes boundaries, and provides new possibilities for perceiving the world around us (#femalegaze).

What is “Here’s The Work”?
This newsletter represents a curated selection of the commercials, branded content, short films, and music videos that were directed by the talented directors in Free The Bid’s global database and released this month! As always, don’t forget that the filmmakers on our database have also been hard at work on feature films, documentaries, episodic TV, webseries, innovation projects, and even more! Bear in mind, too, that while this list showcases the work of Free The Bid directors, our site also is a one-stop shop for discovering editors, colorists, composers and DOPs. A commitment to freeing the bid doesn’t just stop at hiring a woman director—enrich your crews with women across production roles!

Starting now, we’re debuting a new quarterly feature, rounding up the news of women directors from our database who have joined the rosters of new production companies over the past three months. Some of these directors were signed for the first time, some have moved to new companies, and others have expanded into representation in new global territories.
