What do a sock hop, dancing in the desert, and an animated sea voyage have in common? They are all backdrops for videos in today’s extra special music video roundup! For their recent album “Everyday Life,” Coldplay created an audio journey through the world. In an effort to broaden their arsenal of directors, they wanted to be intentional about finding filmmakers that could truly bring their vision to life.

From the Americas and Africa to the wondrous world of animation, Aoife Mcardle, Åsa Lucander, Cory Bailey, Dakota Johnson, Diane Martel, and Karena Evans went to new horizons to capture gorgeous images that’ll leave you in awe.

On working with the directors, Coldplay noted, “Six out of seven videos for our most recent album were directed by women. Every single one of those directors proved themselves masters of their art."

These women directors are the perfect reminder that all underrepresented creators need is the opportunity. After that? Just sit back and watch them work 👑
